Software Engineer, Agent - Healthcare Integrations

Salary: $211,000 - 251,000 per year Requirements:

• We look for 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including performance at or above Senior Software Engineer level.
• We want deep experience delivering production healthcare integrations under HIPAA, security, privacy, and compliance constraints.
• We require strong technical familiarity with interoperability standards and patterns such as FHIR, HL7, OAuth/SMART-style authorization, patient identity, data mapping, audit logs, and EHR-specific APIs.
• We prefer experience integrating with one or more major EHR or healthcare platforms, such as Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, eClinicalWorks, MEDITECH, or comparable systems.
• We value strong product and platform judgment, including knowing what should become a reusable primitive versus a customer-specific solution, and how to design abstractions that hold up in real healthcare environments.
• We need comfort working directly with customers, including EHR analysts, security teams, technical leaders, and operations stakeholders, while remaining hands-on in the code.
• We require a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Additional experience is a plus if we have built and scaled end-to-end production systems.
• Additional experience is a plus if we have built or deployed AI/LLM systems in production.
• Additional experience is a plus if we have founder or founding engineer experience.
• Additional familiarity is a plus with tools used for AI agents, such as eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
• Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and/or Go is a plus.
• Previous roles involving customer-facing technical work or external stakeholder project leadership are a plus.

• We design and build the core healthcare integration primitives that let our agents securely connect with EHRs and other healthcare systems of record.
• We own production integrations with systems such as Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, eClinicalWorks, MEDITECH, and other healthcare platforms, including FHIR, HL7, APIs, flat files, and customer-specific patterns.
• We build reusable platform capabilities for healthcare data access, write-back workflows, authentication, authorization, auditability, observability, testing, and deployment across customers.
• We work closely with Agent Engineers to design and deliver healthcare workflows such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, care navigation, CRM updates, clinical task routing, and other read/write agent actions.
• We act as a technical subject matter expert for customer EHR, IT, security, and operations teams, translating complex interoperability needs into clear implementation plans and durable platform capabilities.
• We help define our standards for safe healthcare agent actions, including validation, idempotency, permissions, human-in-the-loop review, escalation, and PHI/data privacy safeguards.
