CNC Operator An established aerospace machine shop with long-term contracts is looking for skilled operators to run 3-5 axis CNC mills and/or lathes. Key Responsibilities Operate and set up 3-5 axis CNC mills and/or lathes to produce aerospace parts to blueprint specifications. Maintain tight tolerances (+/- .001) while machining aluminum and steel components. Load raw materials, adjust offsets, and inspect parts using calipers and micrometers. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues. Interpret blueprints and select appropriate programs (no editing required). Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a collaborative team environment. What we're looking for 5+ years of aerospace machining experience with expertise in steel and aluminum components. Skilled in setup and operation of 3-5 axis CNC mills and/or lathes, including offset adjustments and program selection. Precision-focused, able to hold tight tolerances (+/- .001) and perform accurate inspections using calipers and micrometers. Strong blueprint interpretation and troubleshooting skills to ensure part accuracy and resolve minor machine issues. Safety-conscious team player with solid maintenance habits and effective communication in a collaborative environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as machine setup, part loading/unloading, and tool handling. Capable of lifting materials and parts up to 50 lbs and operating manual and powered equipment safely. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision measuring, adjusting machine settings, and handling small components.
