CNC Programmers, 1st and 2nd shifts

Universal Presentation Concepts (UPC) is looking to hire full-time CNC Operators on first and second shift to join our team at our Madison, WI facility to build new retail store fixtures for home appliances, custom cabinets, and point of purchase (POP) displays in our custom studio. Education and Training Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field or a mechanical field. Experience with programming and knowledge of electronics and machine tools is required. Computer skills and software knowledge of AutoCAD, Router Cim, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word required. Scope: The CNC Programmer develops numerically controlled machine programs with the help of AutoCAD software. Must be proficient in G & M code, and program machinery in the most expedient, efficient and quality manner, and update programs as needed.

Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints.

Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cut.

Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.

Determines sequence of operations in a program.

Chooses cutting tools that will be needed.

Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs.

Responsible for tooling purchases and maintaining stock of correct tooling including sharpening and or maintenance.

Program for multiple shift organization.

Communicates with employees at all levels to ensure the highest quality product is produced within the production goal set.

May need to work extended/flexible hours to meet critical programing needs.

Follows the rules and established written policies.

Assist in training of machine operators.

Enforces safety policies and procedures.

Attends meetings and offers input and solutions on CNC production related issues.

Operates machinery as required by the CNC supervisor. Prepares reports and records as necessary to document departmental activities and/or provide information to other management personnel.

Physical Requirements: CNC Programmers are required to spend time in a climate controlled office environment in front of a computer screen keyboarding and manipulation a mouse. This is an hourly role working on first shift 6a-2:30p, with a 30-minute lunch. We can be flexible on start and end times as long as you are meeting business needs. Hourly team members typically work 40 hours each week and during high business need, overtime is offered on Saturdays.
