Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent experience in the field of specialty

License: Completion of College Anatomy and Physiology I course

Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross certification

Must-Have: Completion of an approved Surgical Tech certificate course or certification as a Central Sterile Processing Technician

Description: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technician administers compassionate care by maintaining standards of nursing practice. The technician creates positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Encourages team members and supports their contributions. The primary responsibility will be assisting in open heart surgeries. In the absence of such cases, the technician will participate in other specialties as needed. This position includes participation in emergency call every third week for 7 days. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience of 2 years is preferred, but 18 months may be considered if working under the highest level of professional license. A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in the specialty is also required. The role is clinical in nature and does not allow for remote work. Scrub colors should be solid navy.
