Mechanical Project Manager 

Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $90,000 - $140,000+ (Based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working for a mechanical contractor and can manage both installation and service-related projects in commercial environments.

We are a well-established contractor specializing in commercial HVAC, plumbing, and ongoing service/maintenance for industrial and commercial clients , including new construction and retrofit projects. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical/HVAC projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
• Review drawings, specifications, and identify scope gaps or issues
• Track RFIs, submittals, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversee equipment procurement, delivery, and installation coordination
• Monitor job progress, safety, and quality performance
• Support commissioning, turnover, and client handoff processes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical or HVAC project management
• Experience with commercial construction or service-based HVAC projects
• Working knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems 
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Preferred

• Experience with a mechanical contractor or HVAC service provider
• Background in service, maintenance, or retrofit projects (in addition to new construction)
• Familiarity with commercial/industrial facilities (retail, healthcare, schools, etc.)
• Experience with estimating, procurement, or preconstruction support
