Role Description

The Music Factory is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher with expertise as a multi-instrumentalist to join our team of professional musicians. This contract position requires teaching music lessons to students of all ages and levels, covering instruments like guitar, piano, voice, drums, wind instruments, and brass. Responsibilities include developing personalized lesson plans, mentoring students to improve their music skills, and fostering a love for music. This is an on-site role based in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Music Theory and Music Education
• Proficiency in Music Performance, with expertise in multiple instruments such as guitar, voice, piano, drums, winds, and brass
• Demonstrated ability to teach and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience and a passion for teaching and sharing music
• Prior teaching experience is highly desirable
• A degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field is preferred

## Availability

We are especially interested in teachers who can teach during our highest-demand hours:

## Peak Hours

* Monday–Friday: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

* Saturday: Morning & Afternoon

* Sunday: Morning & Afternoon

Teachers with broad availability during these times generally build schedules more quickly.

## Teaching Format

Lessons are primarily taught in person at our Seattle and Bellevue/Mercer Island area locations.

Teachers should also be comfortable conducting virtual lessons when necessary.

## Qualifications

Preferred:

* 2+ years of teaching experience

* Professional performance experience

* Ability to teach multiple instruments

* Experience teaching children, teens, and adults

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Reliable transportation

Not required but valued:

* Music degree

* Recording or production experience

* Ensemble coaching experience

* Songwriting experience

* Curriculum development experience
