Schedule: Varies (availability to work weekends)

Position Overview

The Fitness Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, exceptionally clean, accessible, and welcoming environment throughout the fitness and recreation facilities. A significant part of this role is hands-on facility upkeep, including the thorough cleaning and restocking of restrooms, with particular responsibility for the lap room and gym bathrooms. The ideal team member takes pride in the appearance and condition of Nocatee facilities, notices the small details others may miss, is willing to get their hands dirty, and provides friendly, attentive service to residents while supporting safe use of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome each resident when they arrive to the facility.
• Enforce fitness center policies, including rules for equipment usage and safety procedures.
• Foster an enjoyable and inclusive atmosphere.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the Fitness Studio, Weight Room, fitness facility, and surrounding recreation areas, including regularly cleaning and sanitizing equipment, floors, high-touch surfaces, and common areas.
• Thoroughly clean, sanitize, inspect, and restock restrooms, including the lap pool and gym bathrooms, to ensure they remain clean, odor-free, stocked, accessible, and welcoming throughout each shift.
• Complete hands-on cleaning tasks as needed, including wiping surfaces, cleaning sinks and toilets, removing trash, addressing spills or messes, and responding promptly to areas that require additional attention.
• Conduct routine walkthroughs of fitness and recreation areas to identify cleanliness, organization, accessibility, maintenance, or safety concerns and take appropriate action or report issues promptly.
• Monitor member activity to ensure the safety and security of all users.
• Verify resident ID’s to ensure access to the facility.
• Enforce the “No Guest” policy to ensure only authorized individuals use the facility.

Requirements

• Knowledge of fitness equipment and safety procedures
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized and safe facility
• Attention to detail and ability to spot potential safety hazards
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude
• Proficient computer knowledge and strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledgeable of all Nocatee facility rules, policies, and procedures
