Fitness Instructor

As a Fitness Instructor , you'll play a vital role in supporting the physical well-being of our members through individualized fitness training, group exercise classes, and transitional wellness programs that help residents maintain their independence and confidence.

Working alongside our Wellness & Rehabilitation team, you'll help residents improve strength, balance, mobility, endurance, and overall quality of life while building meaningful relationships along the way.

One-on-One Fitness Training

• Conduct individual fitness assessments and wellness consultations
• Develop personalized exercise programs based on member goals, abilities, and health considerations
• Provide hands-on coaching, encouragement, and support during training sessions
• Monitor progress and adjust programs to help members achieve their goals safely
• Maintain accurate documentation of sessions, outcomes, and member progress

Group Exercise Leadership

• Lead engaging group fitness classes focused on strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, and cardiovascular health
• Adapt exercises for varying fitness levels and physical abilities
• Create a positive, supportive environment where members feel encouraged and successful
• Promote safe exercise practices and proper technique during all classes

Transitional Wellness & Post-Rehab Support

• Partner with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists to help residents transition from therapy to independent exercise
• Implement therapist recommendations and precautions appropriately
• Monitor safety and communicate concerns or changes to the rehabilitation team
• Support long-term wellness and functional independence goals

Community Wellness Programming

• Assist with wellness events, health screenings, educational seminars, and fitness initiatives
• Help develop creative programs that encourage resident engagement and participation
• Provide fitness center orientation and equipment instruction
• Assist with maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe workout environment

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working with older adults
• Background in senior fitness, rehabilitation, wellness, or healthcare
• Experience with post-rehabilitation exercise programming
• Knowledge of balance training, fall prevention, and functional fitness
• Experience developing wellness initiatives or special events
