This Is What You Will Do The Regional Account Manager, Neurology, Sacramento, CA manages and develops long‑term relationships with assigned physicians, extended prescribers, and other customers in the assigned territory. The individual will represent the assigned Alexion brands and their approved indications, provide disease and product education to external customers such as physicians and nurses, and help patients. You will be responsible for: Consistently achieving or exceeding sales objectives in the assigned territory while maintaining the highest level of organizational ethics and compliant business practices. Creating, maintaining, and executing strategic account‑specific business plans that reflect the brand plan and an in‑depth understanding of local market forces. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including Institutional Account Manager(s), TLL(s), SAL(s), MSL(s), FRM(s), Market Access, Diagnostics, and other Enterprise partners. Handling customer questions and objections in a manner consistent with product indications and sales training methodology, including the ability to compliantly triage inquiries to appropriate partners. Developing and maintaining in‑depth disease and therapeutic clinical, and scientific knowledge. Demonstrating competence in educating on the disease’s diagnostic approach, leading to an effective patient diagnosis. Proving the ability to navigate complex hospital settings (academic and community) to access targeted HCPs and other key stakeholders. Appropriately utilizing all marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations, to further the selling process across all customer stakeholders. Leading the implementation of the patient‑centric partnership model, which will include physicians, their staff, clinics, and applicable hospitals. Executing local disease education and promotional programs for the therapeutic area. Providing a high level of product expertise and customer service to all targeted accounts and appropriate stakeholders. Tracking activities and submitting accurate, on‑time sales activity reports. Managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and demonstrating self‑starter qualities. Exhibiting excellent written and verbal skills. You will need to have: Bachelor’s degree required. Proven, documented track record of delivering consistent "Top‑tier" sales results. Five years of pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., biotech or medical device). Strong preference for neurology experience, especially in building relationships with physicians who diagnose and treat neuromuscular disorders in high‑complexity institutions, community hospitals, satellite sites, and private practices. Experience building relationships with healthcare professionals working in locations that administer infused therapies and/or apheresis for immunological disorders. Success in educating physicians about complex diseases diagnosed mainly through observations and exclusion rather than simple tests. Ability to manage diverse patient disease profiles that do not lend themselves to simple segmentation and categorization for treatment decisions. Skill in building and strengthening lasting relationships with providers in physician practices and hospitals where access may be challenging. Ability to manage territory budget and adhere to Alexion code of ethics and compliance. Readiness to travel within the territory on a regular basis, including frequent overnight and weekend travel. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Adaptability to a field environment, including travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane, working comfortably in a clinical setting, using a computer, and engaging via phone, video, and electronic messaging. We would prefer for you to have: Master’s in Life Sciences or an MBA. Experience in bio/pharma, neurology, and/or ophthalmology. Ability to navigate and work within large hospital systems, IDNs, and academic teaching hospitals. The annual base pay for this position ranges from $152,636 to $228,954. The position offers eligibility for various incentives—short‑term incentive bonuses, equity‑based awards for salaried roles, and commissions for sales roles.
