Production Associate

Job Title: Production Associate – Laminator // 1st and 2nd shift Available // $18-20/HR (Depending on Experience)

Job Description

This entry-level production role focuses on laminating and finishing carbon fiber and fiberglass materials in a composite manufacturing environment. You will receive hands-on training in the Laminator and Finishing departments and work closely with experienced leads to develop your skills, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare molds, tools, and materials for composite layup according to work instructions and production schedules.
• Cut, measure, and apply carbon fiber and fiberglass materials with accuracy to meet design specifications.
• Perform composite layup processes, including wet layup, vacuum bagging, and infusion, following established procedures.
• Inspect parts for quality, identifying defects and verifying adherence to specifications before moving to the next stage.
• Trim, sand, and finish composite parts to required dimensions and surface quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety guidelines and proper handling procedures for resins, chemicals, and production equipment.
• Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for cutting, trimming, and finishing operations.
• Read and understand written instructions, basic blueprints, and production documentation to complete tasks correctly.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and achieve daily output goals.
• Participate in safety training and hands-on training on the first day and continually apply feedback from leads to improve techniques and work quality.

Essential Skills

• Manufacturing experience required in a production or industrial environment.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and push or pull up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to perform simple measurements accurately using basic measuring tools.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions and work orders.
• Comfort working with power tools and hand tools in a production setting.
• Capability to work on your feet for extended periods in a dusty manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail when inspecting, measuring, and finishing composite parts.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols for handling resins, chemicals, and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in composite manufacturing, laminating, or similar production work is a plus.
• Familiarity with carbon fiber and fiberglass materials is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of blueprints or technical drawings is helpful.
• Experience with production, finishing, and laminate processes is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and take direction from leads.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting shift and attendance requirements.

Work Environment

This role is based in a composite manufacturing facility that produces carbon fiber structures for advanced technology applications. You will work primarily in a dusty production area with carbon materials, resins, and finishing tools. The position is on the 2nd shift, typically from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment is hands-on, with regular use of power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment, and a strong emphasis on safety procedures and cleanliness at the workstation. Dress comfortably in attire suitable for a manufacturing floor, with appropriate protective equipment provided as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Carlsbad,CA.
