Quality Assurance Inspector III - 1st Shift

Atkore is seeking a 1st Shift Quality Assurance Inspector – Manufacturing located in Harvey, Illinois. The role reports to the Quality Manager and involves performing product inspections using various measurement tools, preparing inspection reports, and ensuring compliance with product specifications. Responsibilities Interpret manufacturing specifications, procedures, and standards to ensure product compliance. Prepare job information—including documents, gauges, and quality history—for production teams prior to job setup. Monitor Statistical Process Controls on key characteristics as defined. Inspect manufactured parts, tooling, and fixtures to verify final product conformance to customer specifications. Initiate non‑conformance reports and corrective actions. Complete, inspect, and distribute all quality records and documents. Maintain job files for production run data, first‑piece approvals, visual alerts, etc. Calibrate gauges and maintain calibration records for gauges and other equipment. Assist in training new production personnel on gauges, gauging techniques, equipment, Statistical Process Control, data collection, and quality policies and procedures. Qualifications 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, and custom fixtures. Collaborate with quality team members to identify short‑and long‑term process improvement ideas. Strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values. Within 12 Months Create, update, and share inspection documentation as needed. Partner with operations to address quality issues in a timely manner. Lead Lean initiatives to drive process improvements. Pay & Benefits Estimated current pay range: $49,200 – $67,650. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and other factors.
