Adjunct Faculty - Political Science

Part‑time Adjunct Faculty Sugar Grove Campus Waubonsee Community College seeks an adjunct instructor to teach courses in the college’s Political Science program. Essential Functions Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description and program outcomes while addressing the needs of diverse learners. Meet all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades, and data collection for assessment of student learning. Incorporate learning‑centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences. Integrate instructional and classroom technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning. Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community. Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Course Description PSC100: Introduction to American Government Aurora Downtown Campus – Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00 am to 12:15 pm (hybrid modality) Fall 2026: Aug 17 – Dec 12, 2026 Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Political Science (preferred) or Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credit hours in political science coursework. Preferred Experience Teaching Political Science or a related field at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution. Teaching traditionally underserved populations. Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning processes. Teaching in multiple instructional modalities. Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
