Tool and Die Maker

Paid Vacation: Shift: 1st shift (6am-4:30pm) Work Week: 4 days (Monday-Thursday) Pay: $30+ per hour, based on experience About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining tooling equipment, supporting production through efficient die setup and maintenance, and contributing to the overall quality and performance of our operations. Key Responsibilities Tool & Die Specific Duties Maintain, repair, and build dies, fixtures, and tooling components to print specifications. Sharpen, shim, and heat‑treat cutting tools to required tolerances. Set up and operate tool room equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM. Diagnose die and tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Support die changes, press set‑ups, and preventative maintenance scheduling. Design and develop new tools and gages or refurbish existing tooling. Lace/start strips and perform first/last piece evaluations per SOPs. Create Tool Repair Tags (TRT) and follow process control procedures. Machining & Quality Produce precision components with tight tolerances: Lathe/Mill, Surface/Cylindrical Grinder, Drill Press, Power Saw. Conduct inspections using micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, etc. Adhere to safety, quality, and productivity standards. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (Required) Ability to read/write/speak English Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Forklift and crane license (or willingness to obtain) Authorized for Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods Preferred Experience Experience with SolidWorks (Sheet Metal & Fundamentals) Troubleshooting stamping operations TIG welding skills Basic to advanced understanding of GD&T Exposure to lean manufacturing (including Tier 1 & Tier 2 Lean Daily Management) Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection tools ERP systems knowledge Core Competencies Strong communication and teamwork Customer and quality focus Time management and multitasking ability Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Initiative and continuous improvement mindset Safety‑first attitude and adherence to 5S standards Working Conditions Regular walking, bending, standing, lifting, reaching Exposure to machinery and seasonal temperature changes Must adhere to safety rules and report incidents per company policy Why Join Us?
