JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with their Registered Nurse First Assistant "RNFA" certification to join our Orthopaedic team. The APP will work 100% as a first assist in the Operating Room. Prior OR experience as a provider is strongly preferred. Experience in total joint surgeries a plus. Schedule: Tuesday – Friday. 10hr shifts beginning at 6:15 a.m. No weekend, call or holidays. Veterans encouraged to apply.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required Education:

• Master's degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
• Graduate of a Master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Acute care certification required.
• Registered Nurse First Assistant "RNFA"
• Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
