The Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) Coordinator leads the coordination and delivery of youth-focused programming designed to prevent teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections while promoting high school completion. Reporting to the Deputy Director, this role delivers adult-preparation education, builds positive relationships with participants and community partners, and supports successful program outcomes. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and a commitment to following agency policies and procedures.
PROGRAM OPERATIONS:- Responsible for the coordination, delivery and daily operations which includes but may not be limited to AHOP (Adolescent Health Outreach Program) planning, program development, organization and facilitations of program activities.
- Facilitate evidencebased curriculum in accordance with grant requirements set by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
- Assists in the development of program budget, monitoring of program budget, and expenditures, follows internal controls, and processes/coordinates all financerelated paperwork with the Deputy Director and CAI finance department.
- Ensures knowledge of and compliance of all budget and program requirements, including completion/maintenance of all programrequired documentation, outcome measurement tools, and required reports.
- Serve as main program contact for funding sources.
- Develops, directs and implements a recruitment plan for program outreach and oversees a waiting list if applicable.
- Responsible for determining eligibility and enrolling participants in AHOP.
- Maintain a client database to track and follow enrollment and program progress.
- Provides resources and referrals to students seeking to make connections to available resources and services in the community.
- Ensures students receive services appropriate to/in accordance with the policies, procedures and goals/requirements of programming.
- Participates in development/implementation of grant/ funding requests, annual work plans, and evaluation activities.
- Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of participants and/or employees. Accesses and uses the minimum necessary personal identifiable information (PII) to perform job responsibilities and only for authorized purposes.
- Develops positive, meaningful, relationships with Community Action program staff and external service providers to assist in the coordination of service and in the development of collaborative opportunities.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the Community Action mission, vision, values and policies within the scope and responsibility of this position. SERVICE DELIVERY/SUPERVISION:
- Ensures the facilitation of evidencebased curriculum is completed with fidelity and supports the facilitation as needed for program participants
- Ensures students receive services appropriate to/in accordance with the policies, procedures and goals/requirements of the program as reflected in participant files and reporting systems
- Provides access and awareness of internal/external programs to obtain services and opportunities for coenrollment toward meeting participant goals. COMMUNICATION
- Develops positive, meaningful, collaborative relationships with Community Action programs/staff and external service providers to assist in the coordination of employment and training services and the development of collaborative opportunities
- Represents Community Action within appropriate community collaborations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills demonstrate nonjudgmental approach and style NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Attends staff, department, agency and local community meetings as needed/required
- Familiarity with the Community Action Strategic Plan and positioned to develop in accordance with the strategic plan.
- Works with staff and Deputy Director to identify program needs and development opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in health, teaching or a related counseling field or equivalent training.
- 12years of work experience in Adolescent Health or Human Growth and Development.
- Previous public speaking experience with strong communication and organizational skills required.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as grant and funding requests, policy and procedure manuals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations and contracts.
- Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to leading efforts to build a culturally diverse and competent environment.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and board of directors.
- Ability to write copy for marketing and social media outreach which conforms to prescribed style and format. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Strong math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions and percentages.
- Understanding of outcome measures.
- Basic understanding of nonprofit accounting and budgeting practices.
- Ability to organize and maintain financial records. REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form, to solve problems requiring decisionmaking skills.
- Ability to visualize end results of a single multifaceted project, develop procedures to attain results within broad guidelines, apply policies and practices to resolve problems independently, and detect exceptional cases for referrals.
- Ability to use analysis and judgment in the adaptation and interpretation of established practices and procedures to meet problems and situations to which their application is not clearly defined. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Access to reliable, licensed, insured driver and transportation required. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to gather and interpret data, and work effectively with lowincome and professional groups and express ideas clearly and objectively in oral and written form.
- Excellent computer skills including the ability to perform intermediate to advance functions in Microsoft word, excel and databases. Must maintain and produce reports utilizing databases required by the funding source.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and work in a deadline driven environment.
- Must be highly organized, accurate and detail oriented.
- Must have strong interpersonal and customer relations skills, and must demonstrate good professional judgment, reliability and a commitment to cultural competency.
- Consistent, dependable with the ability to work independently as well as a team member.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records/information and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
- Specific vision requirements of the job include close and distance vision.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
- Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Requires some irregularity in hours due to responding to the program needs.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The normal work environment is an interior office.
