Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a contract Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year! This part-time opportunity (2 or 3 days per week, .4 or .6 FTE) focuses on early childhood students within a collaborative preschool consortium in the North Chicago region. Your expertise will help children access educational experiences and achieve developmental milestones in a nurturing environment.
Ideal candidates will bring a blend of specialized training, adaptability, and compassion to this impactful position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Holds active certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as required
- Experience working with early childhood populations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of special education regulations and best practices
- Comfortable traveling between consortium preschool sites as needed
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to children in early childhood programs, tailoring intervention plans to individual needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education teams to support students’ goals
- Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development
- Monitor and document progress, revising plans as needed
- Provide consultation and education to staff and families on strategies for classroom participation and self-care skills
- Travel between sites within the preschool consortium as required
