Job Summary: The Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) is dedicated to providing exceptional care through a Nursing Professional Practice Model. Nurses in this unit deliver specialized medical and nursing care across various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with staff utilizing the latest technology and equipment to care for patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease, strokes, cancer, post-surgical care, and more.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations.
• Experience managing care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
• Proficiency in developing, implementing, and modifying patient care plans.
• Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects.
• Experience preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care.
• Proficiency in IV venipuncture and blood administration.
• Ability to document care accurately using EMR.
• Experience educating patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers.
• Strong conflict management and professional communication skills.
• Critical thinking skills to assess patient status and take appropriate action.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
• Commitment to patient safety and adherence to safety standards, including fall precautions and pressure ulcer prevention.
• Experience completing bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintaining updated patient communication boards.
• Ability to delegate tasks appropriately and follow up on delegated responsibilities.

Required Education:

• College diploma in nursing.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS (AHA).
• IL Nursing License.
