Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN with 2+ years of OR experience for a general surgical, ortho, and specialty case unit requiring Epic charting and call coverage.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit supporting General, Ortho, OB/GYN, GI, Colorectal, ENT, and Pain Management cases,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM,
• Call coverage split among 3 RNs, averaging 10 shifts per month,
• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Skills in surgical specialties including Thoracic, General Surgery, Orthopedic, and Urology procedures,
• Experience with equipment such as cell saver,
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol procedures,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties including thoracic, general, orthopedic, and urologic procedures,
• Participate in emergency management and fire safety protocols within the OR setting,
• Complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs,
• Not accepted from candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties,
• Locals residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted,
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler,
• All RTO must be submitted and listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation,
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted,
• Travel experience preferred but not required, first-time travelers may be considered
