Residential Counselor I/II - Monroe House Thurs/Fri/Sat 8am-8pm Residential Counselors facilitate and work with consumers on a variety of activities of daily living (ADLs) to increase self‑sufficiency and promote recovery. Responsibilities include providing individual and group psychotherapy, managing intake and discharge processes, monitoring medications, ensuring a safe environment, coordinating treatment plans, and advocating for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness as part of a multidisciplinary team. Salary: RCI – $27.79/hr; RCII – $30.12/hr Support and coordinate clinical care with case management services and other providers inside and outside of MHCD. Assess consumers throughout the workday and provide appropriate interventions. Encourage, support, and train consumers in activities of daily living—cleaning, cooking, appointments, and household duties. Complete intake and discharge tasks for new residents or those moving out of the house. Maintain household safety through cooking, cleaning, and laundry activities. Document all significant consumer interactions toward recovery and continuity of care, including daily logs, consumer records, and medication records. Respond to consumer and building emergencies and facilitate appropriate interventions; contact other residential staff, supervisors, or clinicians as needed. Advocate for the acceptance and integration of individuals with mental illness within the neighborhood and community. Maintain a trauma‑informed environment of wellbeing. Attend scheduled team meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Meet qualifications under Chapter 7 of the Residential Care Facilities – Mentally Ill requirements; shift work and/or weekend work is required. Certain programs may require a Class “S” driver’s license. Requirements & Qualifications Education: RC I: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field; or seeking Certified Nurse’s Aid (C.N.A.) or Home Health Aid (H.H.A.) certification (preferred). RC II: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field. Experience: One year of mental health experience or in a related field preferred. Must be 21 years of age to apply. Certifications: QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) CPR & First Aid Shift / Hours: Thursday, Friday & Saturday 8am – 8pm. Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting, including climbing stairs and responding quickly to emergencies. May require lifting 50 pounds.
