Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in New York on a contract basis. This position focuses on managing customer accounts, reducing outstanding balances, and supporting healthy cash flow through effective follow-up and issue resolution. The ideal candidate brings experience with both commercial and consumer collections, along with a strong understanding of billing and credit-related processes.Responsibilities:• Contact commercial and consumer customers regarding past-due balances and drive timely payment resolution through clear, effective communication.• Review aging reports and account histories to prioritize collection efforts and identify high-risk receivables.• Investigate billing questions, payment discrepancies, and account issues in partnership with internal teams to remove barriers to payment.• Maintain accurate records of collection activity, customer commitments, and account status updates within company systems.• Work closely with credit and finance personnel to support account evaluations and recommend appropriate collection actions.• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow established collection procedures to improve recovery rates and reduce delinquency.• Prepare account summaries and status updates for leadership to highlight collection trends and unresolved items.
