The Role

We are looking for a enthusiastic, detailed-oriented  Optician / Eyewear Specialist to join our team full-time.  A license is NOT required —whether you’re an experienced optician or have strong sales/customer service experience with an eye for style and a eagerness to learn, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you’ll be the face of our optical dispensary. You will guide patients through selecting frames and lenses, navigate vision insurance benefits, help curate our frame inventory, and work directly with eyewear sales representatives to keep our board fresh and exciting.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Styling & Dispensing: Help patients select frames and lens options that best fit their lifestyle, prescription, and personal style. Perform precise frame fittings, adjustments, and repairs.
• Insurance Navigation: Interpret and explain patient vision insurance benefits (VSP, EyeMed, etc.) clearly and accurately, helping patients maximize their coverage.
• Inventory Management: Select, order, and manage frame inventory to ensure a diverse, fashionable, and profitable product line.
• Vendor Relations: Meet with frame representatives to preview new collections, place board orders, and maintain vendor relationships.
• Lab Collaboration: Process optical orders, inspect incoming jobs for accuracy, and communicate effectively with optical labs.
• Team Collaboration: Assist with front desk duties, patient check-ins, or scheduling as needed to support a seamless practice workflow.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Previous optical experience is preferred, but strong candidates with background in retail sales, fashion styling, or customer service will be considered.
• Licensure: None required.
• Interpersonal Skills: Warm, friendly demeanor with a passion for helping people look and feel their best.
• Detail-Oriented: Comfortable working with optical measurements, insurance portals, and inventory tracking.
• Proactive & Flexible: Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a tight-knit, small-practice setting.
