Event Coordinator

The I Hotel and Conference Center is committed to providing superior guest service in Champaign-Urbana’s only facility that is constructed to AAA Four-Diamond standards. The I Hotel and Conference Center is seeking an Event Coordinator with the following qualities and qualifications: Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Plan everything from weddings to large expos, to small business meetings Create detailed event plans and make presentations of their proposals for guest’s approval Control an event from conception to clean up Assist guest with food, entertainment, staff and cleanup Prepare floor plans for events Work with guest and A/V team for equipment setup Make sure the event runs smoothly, efficiently and handle any crisis that may come up Work with suppliers, contractors, employees, wait staff and many other parties at the same time Maintain general appearance of Conference Center rooms before, during and after event Keep in constant contact with guest regarding progress of event and any special needs Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests Attends departmental and other meetings as required Know and comply with company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies and energy May assist with other duties and departments as assigned Qualifications: High level of commitment to exceptional customer service Brings a positive energy to workplace Efficient problem solver Maintains calm under pressure Works well in a fast-paced high volume work environment Excellent communication skills Strong work ethic and attention to details Flexible work schedule, available to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts Previous Event Coordinator experience necessary For full time employees, Health benefits package, 401(k), paid vacation, and bonus structure offered.
