Trade Compliance Analyst

Conductix-Wampfle

We are seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to support U.S. import and export compliance through accurate HTS/HTSUS classification, duty and tariff analysis, documentation review, and ERP master data maintenance. This role partners with Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, suppliers, and freight forwarders to reduce risk, ensure accurate customs declarations, and improve landed cost visibility. An individual in this role can be based in either Omaha, Ne or Harlan, IA facility. Key Responsibilities Assign HTS classifications using product data, drawings, and bills of material Determine duty rates, tariffs, Section 301/232, and antidumping/countervailing duties Prepare pre-entry import summaries and landed cost estimates Maintain HTS codes, tariff rates, and country-of-origin data in SAP/ERP Review invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents for accuracy Work with suppliers and brokers to correct documentation issues Support export compliance, including EAR/ECCN review and documentation Coordinate Post Summary Corrections (PSCs) and entry updates with CBP Monitor changes to trade regulations, HTS, and duty rates Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field 3–5 years of trade compliance, import/export, or customs experience Knowledge of HTSUS, GRIs, country of origin, and import entry processes Experience with tariffs, customs brokers, and freight forwarders Strong Excel/Power BI skills; SAP/ERP experience preferred Familiarity with USMCA, free trade agreements, and export controls a plus Additional Information No direct supervisory responsibilities; provides cross‑functional guidance Office‑based environment with standard physical requirements Conductix‑Wampfler offers a great starting wage, with health, dental, and life insurance, 401k plan, paid vacation/personal time and holidays, profit sharing and tuition reimbursement program. The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting import and export compliance for the US CoE through accurate product classification, duty and tariff analysis, documentation review, and ERP master data maintenance. An individual in this role reviews products and part numbers to determine proper HTS/HTSUS classifications, identifies applicable duty rates and additional tariff actions, prepares pre‑entry import summaries for freight forwarders and customs brokers, and supports accurate customs declarations. This position works closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Product Compliance, Engineering, Finance, suppliers, and freight forwarders to reduce trade compliance risk, improve landed cost visibility, and identify sourcing and logistics cost savings opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: Reviewing products, part numbers, drawings, bills of material, supplier information, and product attributes to determine and assign proper HTS classifications for imported and exported goods. Determining current duty rates, tariffs, and other applicable trade remedies or special duties, including Section 301, Section 232, antidumping/countervailing duty considerations, and other relevant U.S. import actions when applicable. Preparing pre‑entry import summaries and landed cost estimates for freight forwarders and customs brokers using HTS classifications, duty rates, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and other shipping documents. Maintaining HTS codes, tariff and duty rates, country‑of‑origin information, and related import/export master data within SAP or other ERP systems to support accurate costing, purchasing, and customs documentation. Reviewing supplier invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and related documentation to confirm the declared HTS code, origin, value, and product description are accurate and aligned with company records. Working with suppliers to correct inaccurate or incomplete trade documentation and to improve the consistency of HTS classifications and import paperwork for inbound shipments. Partnering with Supply Chain to analyze the company’s global sourcing and logistics footprint, evaluate landed cost impacts, and identify cost savings opportunities through alternate sourcing, country‑of‑origin strategies, and logistics routing improvements. Supporting Product Compliance, Logistics, Engineering, and Sales teams to assure export shipments have the required documentation, product compliance information, classification support, and export control review prior to shipment. Preparing, filing, or coordinating Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), protests, prior disclosures, entry amendments, and other customs declaration changes as needed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and approved customs brokers. Monitoring changes to HTS classifications, tariff programs, duty rates, customs regulations, and trade policy changes that may affect the company’s products, suppliers, or customers. Supporting internal audits, corrective actions, process improvements, and training related to import/export documentation, HTS classification, customs entry accuracy, and trade compliance controls. Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities unless otherwise assigned. Provides functional guidance, training, and subject matter expertise to Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Product Compliance, Engineering, Finance, and other teams concerning HTS classification, import/export documentation, and customs compliance processes. Qualified candidates will possess the following B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of three to five years of related import/export, customs compliance, trade compliance, or supply chain experience; or equivalent education and experience. Strong working knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), customs valuation, country of origin, duty rate determination, and U.S. import entry processes for durable goods or industrial products. Experience determining duty and tariff impacts, including standard duty rates and additional tariff programs such as Section 301 and Section 232 when applicable. Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, and other import/export documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar analysis tools, including the ability to analyze large data sets, summarize tariff exposure, and communicate landed cost impacts to business stakeholders. Experience maintaining trade compliance master data in SAP or another ERP system preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities, support time‑sensitive shipments, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, customs brokers, and government agencies. Familiarity with export control concepts, EAR/ECCN review, denied party screening, free trade agreements, USMCA documentation, and antidumping/countervailing duty considerations preferred.
