Department Information
Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses/domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas: Primary care, women's health, Psychiatry, Travel/Immunization/Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology).

Job Summary

The Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a college health services pharmacy, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient medication dispensing in compliance with federal and state regulations, HIPAA, and institutional policies.

This role collaborates closely with external/internal healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and serves as a trusted resource for students/staff managing both acute and chronic health conditions. The individual is responsible for counseling patients on medication use, promoting adherence, and supporting the unique needs of a college-aged population as they develop independence in managing their healthcare.

This position contributes to pharmacy operations through inventory management, record keeping, and regulatory compliance, while also providing oversight and training to pharmacy interns and staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care, education, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary student health environment.

This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Physicians, students, and staff.

This position typically will advise and counsel: Physicians, students, and staff.

This position will supervise: assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1
Accurately dispense prescriptions in accordance with provider orders; administer vaccines per protocol/orders; consult with prescriber as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.

Job Duty 2
Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, adherence, and safety with a focus on supporting a college-aged population.

Job Duty 3
Serve as a clinical resource to campus healthcare providers and support safe, effective medication use within the student health setting.

Job Duty 4
Participate in continuing education programs to maintain licensure.

Job Duty 5
Maintain records associated with pharmacy operations; maintain adequate pharmacy inventory including managing stock levels and handling returned or expired products.

Job Duty 6
Provide oversight and work direction to pharmacy interns and technicians, as required.

Job Duty 7
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Doctor of Pharmacy degree

Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Practice of pharmacy within a university environment

• Dispensing pharmaceuticals and operating within pharmacy systems
