Role Description The Manual Machinist is a full-time, on-site role based in Norton, OH. This role is responsible for setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, and related equipment to produce precision components according to blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tooling, measuring and inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications, and making adjustments to machines to maintain accuracy and quality. The Manual Machinist will work closely with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production schedules and maintain safety and housekeeping standards. The role may also involve basic maintenance of equipment, collaboration on process improvements, and assisting with large or complex projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong manual machining skills, including setup and operation of manual lathes, mills, and related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions, including use of standard shop math.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
• Understanding of machining materials, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling selection for various metals and alloys.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in a job shop, custom machining, or fabrication setting is highly beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in machining is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work around industrial machinery in a production environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs or priorities.
