Associate Director, Manufacturing Technical Project Management (MSAT)

Madrigal Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director to lead technical project management for commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing through contract manufacturing organizations. The role oversees drug substance initiatives, manages project teams, and coordinates cross-functional activities to ensure timely delivery of manufacturing objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead MSAT technical projects focused on drug substance activities at external CMOs with integrated planning and timeline management
Build, develop, and manage blended teams of internal and contingent MSAT project managers as organization scales
Serve as primary MSAT interface with CMOs for assigned initiatives, coordinating deliverables and resolving issues
Manage API technology transfer, process changes, site onboarding, and manufacturing readiness projects
Support end-to-end CMC projects spanning drug substance, drug product, and supply chain with cross-functional coordination

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related technical discipline
10-12 years pharmaceutical manufacturing, MSAT, technical operations, or project management experience
Demonstrated project management experience with external contract manufacturing organizations
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, particularly drug substance/API
Experience in small-molecule drug substance manufacturing preferred
Familiarity with GMP environments and regulated project execution
Team building and leadership experience in pharmaceutical or regulated settings preferred
