CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist Nov is seeking skilled and motivated CNC machinists to join our manufacturing team. The role requires the ability to independently set up and operate CNC machines to meet established production goals with minimal supervision. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong machining aptitude, including selecting appropriate fixtures, cutting parameters, and tooling for each operation. Schedule: 2 shifts available - day shift is 6:00am to 2:30pm & night shift is 4:00pm to 2:30am; about 10-15 hours of overtime available on a weekly basis. Shift differential: night shift receives per hour. Top skills required: (must be shown on all resumes) - looking for a seasoned CNC machinist with at least 5+ years of experience - must have previous experience with Fanuc controls - previous experience with vertical turning lathe (VTL) or 4-jaw chucks - previous experience machining large parts (50-60" in diameter) - must have stable work tenure. Job responsibilities include: setting up and operating CNC machines under minimal instruction and supervision, validating machine programs and work instructions before machining to ensure accuracy of operations under minimal supervision, detecting malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusting machine controls or control media as required and having the ability to correct these issues to meet the production teams goal, setting up and operating CNC machines for first article to prove out program and set up instructions, documenting actions by completing work order routings, proof programs without assistance, maintaining continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs, working as a team player with others in a demanding fast-paced environment to meet frequently changing production, reporting problems to responsible management levels, meeting established company production goals, maintaining safe operations by adhering to NOV safety policies and procedures, processing remaining parts while conducting constant checks and inspections to ensure dimensional and surface finish requirements are met for the entire part run, functional knowledge of FANUC controlled VTL/VTC or Doosan Puma slant bed horizontal lathe CNC machines, ability to set up machine and tooling, load/unload parts, enter work and tool offsets, determine optimal manufacturing plan, develop required NC program, and execute program. Qualifications: HS diploma or GED required. Vocational education (commercial or shop training, technical school) preferred. 5-7 years of traditional machining experience, or comparable experience with trade school. Ability to learn and work with Conversational Programming and numeric control Programming along with understanding G&M codes.
