Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in New York. This role involves working with patients across various settings, such as long-term care facilities, acute care facilities, and outpatient settings, to address communication and swallowing disorders. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will develop individualized treatment plans and provide essential therapy services.

Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist

• Assess patients' speech or language difficulties using communication and standardized tests.
• Develop and carry out individualized treatment plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist patients in articulating sounds and improving voice quality.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as AAC or sign language, to patients with limited speech capability.
• Work with patients to improve reading and writing skills.
• Develop and implement exercises to strengthen the muscles used in swallowing.
• Counsel patients and families on coping mechanisms for communication disorders.
• Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, diagnoses, treatment progress, and treatment plan changes.
• Complete final evaluations when patients finish therapy.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• New York State license for Speech-Language Pathology, along with a certificate of clinical competence.
• Limited license required for Clinical Fellowship.
