This position is responsible for creating, managing, and executing social media content to promote the department's programs, services, and initiatives.This role involves close collaboration with the Animal Care and Control division, external animal welfare organizations, and community partners to enhance outreach efforts and build a supportive network. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, compassion for working with animals, and the ability to develop engaging content that reflects and upholds the City of Fort Worth's Mission and Vision across various social media platforms.Minimum Qualifications:Associate's degree, with emphasis in communications or related fieldsOne (2) years of technical video or photography experienceOne (1) year of video editing experiencePreferred Qualifications:Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), and video editing tools for creating graphics and multimedia contentExperience using social media analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Twitter Analytics) to track campaign performance and generate metrics reportsExperience working with animals or a demonstrated passion for animal welfare and community-based animal servicesBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing communications, public relations, journalism, or a related fieldThe Social Media Specialist job responsibilities include:Develop, create, and manage social media content to promote code compliance initiatives and programsPlanning, writing, and executing social media campaigns that raise awareness about code compliance topics, including property maintenance, zoning, and safety codes.Designing and posting visuals, videos, and infographics to communicate key messages and enhance public understandingAssist in crisis communication by addressing negative feedback and providing accurate information during code-related emergencies or incidentsTrack and analyze social media metrics to measure engagement, reach, and campaigns effectivenessEnsure all social media communications align with the City of Fort Worth's branding and communication standardsCollaboration effectively with other departments, city employees and stakeholders to achieve communication goalsProviding creative problem-solving ideas to overcome content challenges or audience engagement issuesWorking Conditions and Physical Demand:Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment.
