Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for designing and developing comprehensive BI solutions with a focus on Power BI and data architecture. This role involves hands-on development, data modeling, and creating scalable enterprise reporting architectures primarily within the public sector or healthcare environments. The specialist will ensure data governance, security, and performance optimization while collaborating closely with business stakeholders. Responsibilities:

• Design and document data architecture for Power BI solutions, including solution architecture, data flow diagrams, and data models.
• Develop and maintain Databricks Lakehouse and Power BI semantic models with role-based security and row-level security implementations.
• Create and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, DAX measures, and KPIs.
• Integrate Databricks data sources and manage data governance frameworks and data lineage documentation.
• Plan and implement performance, capacity, and non-functional requirements, including CI/CD pipeline design.
• Conduct architecture reviews and produce sign-off packages.
• Support testing, deployment, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and perform deep-dive data analysis for issue resolution.
• Mentor developers and lead BI initiatives to enhance team capabilities.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture and business intelligence.
• At least 5 years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
• Expert-level skills in DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and advanced SQL.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and enterprise data warehouse design.
• Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, and SQL Server.
• Proven ability to design enterprise semantic models and reporting architectures.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and performance optimization strategies.
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
• 3 years of experience in the public sector or healthcare domain.

• Experience leading BI initiatives and mentoring development teams.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for BI solutions.
• Advanced business analysis skills for gathering and refining BI requirements.

• Position requires onsite presence 5 days per week at the designated office location.
• Strict adherence to contract extension rules with no additional funds beyond the maximum contract value.
• Work environment requires compliance with data governance and security frameworks.

• Standard working hours are 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM excluding lunch breaks.
