The Juvenile Department is currently looking for a Bilingual Administrative Specialist II - Conciliation Team to uphold our core values of integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
This role will be responsible for scheduling clients, managing a high volume of direct client contact, collaborating with the team on an ongoing file digitization project, managing the development of our client database, and ensuring timely and detailed communication with the court. This position will work with the Conciliation Services Team, consisting of a Supervisor, two Conciliation Counselors, and an Administrative Specialist II to lead the daily administrative work as directed by the State of Oregon Courts, the Family Law Education Program, and Mediation services as required by Oregon Revised Statutes. Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Experience in client-facing services who can effectively engage with clients in high conflict situations related to divorce and child custody matters.
Highly proficient computer user with advanced technical skills, including expertise in database management.
Utilizes active listening techniques and responds with empathy and patience when managing high stress or emotionally charged circumstances.
Clear communicator, collaborative team player, and highly organized.
Demonstrates responsiveness and proactive engagement, with strong ability to shift priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and exercise sound independent judgment.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain professional and departmental boundaries during high pressure or challenging situations.
Spanish/English bilingual skills.
Bilingual Positions: Designated bilingual positions require that the incumbent have knowledge of another language besides English. It is required to possess precise writing skills (including spelling, grammar, and punctuation), fluent speaking skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.Upon successfully passing the applicable proficiency assessment test in a selected language, employees will receive bilingual pay in the amount of five percent (5%) of their base pay rate, exclusive of any other incentive pay, or a flat rate of seventy-five dollars ($75) per pay period, whichever is greater.
About the Department/Division:
Conciliation Services provides court ordered and voluntary Mediation, Couples and Co-Parent Counseling as well as High Conflict co-parent education services to support parents in working toward a resolution regarding their divorce or custody disputes involving children.
Our Juvenile Department programs and services are designed to provide fair, accessible, and impartial treatment that involves families in decision making. We collaborate with schools, local law enforcement agencies, and other community partners to help youth develop the tools and skills they need to be successful. Our work with youth and families includes assessments and individual case plans that address their risk, needs, and behaviors.
The Juvenile Department also works to honor victims' rights and interests throughout all phases of the justice system and provide opportunities for youth to repair harm to victims and communities. Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent; and
Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.
Possession of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or other applicable certifications may substitute for up to one (1) year of the experience requirement.
Additional Requirements
Must be fluent in Spanish, demonstrated by passing a written and an oral proficiency test.
Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
