Manager Production- 7pm-7am

Position Overview The Manager Production is a first‑level manager that leads a team of employees focused on supporting the Production function by overseeing the production planning, staffing, and day‑to‑day manufacturing operations in a cost‑effective manner. This role manages operational functions, prioritizes production, delivers on budget requirements, and effectively achieves departmental goals with an emphasis on leadership and growth. Shift 7pm-7am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule Responsibilities Plan production operations for locations, establishing priorities and sequences for products; monitor priority lists and schedules to ensure orders are processed based on priority and customer promise dates are met. Prepare operational schedules and coordinate department activities to ensure that production and quality of products meet specifications; monitor and report daily production output and operational status. Actively participate in process improvement, modifications, upgrades, and projects. Work closely with Maintenance and/or Engineering departments to plan and coordinate routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment availability and production output while minimizing downtime and operational delays. Collaborate with other distribution process owners to efficiently reinspect priorities and table reviews that minimize cost and maximize customer service. Handle employee relations, problem solving, goal setting, scheduling, disciplinary action, terminations, and equipment problems. Collaborate with plant safety and quality teams to identify issues, develop or enhance programs and procedures, ensure compliance with standards, and provide appropriate training and equipment to employees. Work with Manufacturing leadership to plan, develop, and control budgets to ensure cost‑effective and efficient processes in the residential reinspect area. Participate in short‑term planning meetings and projects addressing labor issues, productivity changes, performance measures, goals, and results. Seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching trends, competitors’ practices, and industry developments to identify opportunities to enhance production technology, process flows, operating plans, and product quality while managing costs. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management: 1-3 years of management experience. Expertise: Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Leadership: Focused on and responsible for the team's productivity and collective impact. Skills: Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Time management: Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively. Integrity: High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Technical: Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. Adaptability: Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once. Professionalism: High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures. Physical Requirements Responsible for direct reports. Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high‑traffic production floor. Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time. May need to bend, crouch, and stoop. Must be able to work in non‑climate‑controlled facilities. Work environment may be noisy and high‑traffic manufacturing production floor. Might be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
