Job Description We are seeking a Part Time Fins Swim Coach and Lesson Instructor Supervisor to join our team. Candidates should be enthusiastic, patient, and experienced. This role focuses on developing our youngest competitive swimmers (8 & under entry-level age group), teaching swim lessons to beginners of various ages, supervising swim lesson programs, and coaching our adult Masters swimmers. The ideal candidate is passionate about water safety, stroke development, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Responsibilities 8 & Under Entry-Level Age Group Coaching: Plan and lead fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices focused on basic stroke technique, water safety, and building confidence. Teach fundamental skills (freestyle, backstroke, kicks, turns, and starts) in a positive, game-based format. Attend occasional local swim meets, provide on-deck coaching, and encourage participation. Track swimmer progress and communicate with parents. Swim Instructor and Lesson Supervisor: Teach group and private swim lessons for beginners (all ages), following established curriculum. Demonstrate proper techniques, ensure water safety, and adapt lessons to individual needs and skill levels. Supervise swim lesson staff/instructors: schedule shifts, provide feedback, ensure consistency in teaching methods, and maintain program quality. Promote a safe, fun learning environment while emphasizing survival skills and enjoyment of the water. Masters Swim Coaching: Design and lead workouts for adult swimmers of varying abilities (fitness, triathlon training, and competitive). Provide stroke analysis, technique feedback, and individualized training advice. Foster a supportive, motivating community atmosphere for adult participants. General Duties: Prioritize safety at all times; enforce pool rules and emergency procedures. Maintain accurate attendance records and progress reports. Assist with pool setup/cleanup, equipment management, and occasional administrative tasks. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support overall program goals. Requirements Previous coaching or teaching experience with young children (8 & under) and/or adults preferred. Strong swimming background (competitive experience a plus). Excellent communication skills; patient, energetic, and able to motivate diverse groups. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings (for Masters) and evenings/weekends. Required Certifications (or ability to obtain promptly): CPR/AED, First Aid Lifeguard Certification (preferred) Safety Training for Swim Coaches Background check required Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($18 per hour).
