Job Description

BME Fire Trucks is seeking skilled Machine Operators with experience. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. Be a part of something that makes a difference in saving lives, homes, and our amazing recreational areas. As a Machine Operator, you will be produce parts by programming, setting up, and operating a variety of CNC machines including laser cutting, plasma cutting, shear cutting, rolling, press brakes, saws, and punches.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining company quality and safety standards while operating equipment and performing job responsibilities.
• Reading drawings to ensure productions of parts are within tolerance through using various measuring devices such as calipers, protractors, tape measures, etc.
• Troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Use of basic hand tools including wrenches, hammers, prybars, grinders, magnets, pliers, etc.

What It Takes To Catch Our Eye

Ability to read blueprints of fire truck designs or parts. Operational knowledge of CNC cutting machines, press brakes, drills, and saws. Great attitude and high expectations for the quality of your work. (Our trucks are used in life or death situations and are expected to perform). Physically fit – ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and climb ladders. A strong work ethic and ability to work independently. Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure. Excellent diagnostic skills. Experience with hand and power tools.

Bonus Points For

High School Diploma or GED. Enjoys working in a team environment. Able to run one machine in fabrication proficiently with little to no quality defects.
