POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Specialist in Loan Operations and Capital Markets reviews and processes loan applications and documentation in compliance with WHEDA, investor, and regulatory requirements. Duties include processing interest‑rate lock requests, funding requests from lending partners, and loan documentation for investment or custodial submission. The role requires competency in package entry, lock desk and funding, and post‑closing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Package Entry: Review and process single‑family loan applications, including data entry to prepare files for underwriting or purchase review; split and index loan documentation related to borrower income, assets, credit, collateral, and regulatory disclosures. Lock Desk and Funding: Process rate‑lock and funding requests from lending partners; perform pipeline management by following up to obtain updated loan status information; process and review original notes upon receipt. Trailing Documents: Review and process closing documentation for closed loans, including final title policies and recorded mortgage documents; complete monthly follow‑up with lending partners to ensure receipt of critical following documents. Documentation Preparation: Review and prepare loan documentation for submission to investors and/or document custodians. Customer Support: Provide support to lending partners. Operations: Assist in coordinating day‑to‑day operations of the Loan Operations and Capital Markets department. Process Improvement: Participate in analysis of selecting and implementing new software, and formulate or modify policies, programs, and procedures. Other Duties: Perform or assist with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 0–2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with computer software, Microsoft Office, and the internet Customer service principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of business correspondence Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement Problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure Successful prioritization and management of work projects Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong adherence to confidentiality when working with clients and vendors Data collection and research methods Data entry principles Strong mathematical aptitude Mortgage lending regulations, practices, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws This position is eligible for a remote/hybrid work schedule after initial 100% in‑office training is completed, at the discretion of the direct manager.
