Regional Safety Manager

Position Overview The Regional Safety Manager will lead and manage efforts to promote safe and compliant practices within the Corporate Health & Safety Department. Focused on the construction field, this role provides safety expertise and risk recognition/reduction skills to drive a “Zero Accidents or injuries” goal through proactive, preventive work practices. Key traits include highly developed communication skills, team player, trainer, strategic and creative, excellent project management abilities, and the ability to drive performance across all company areas. Essential Functions Maintain current knowledge of safety trends and practices in the industry to adapt to a changing safety environment. Identify and implement company best practices to create standards that continuously improve safety practices. Manage the safety region to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses. Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs related to occupational injuries in the construction/manufacturing industry. Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and/or accidents, and prepare reports. Act with fiduciary responsibility. Prepare incident reports for regions and work with operations on dissemination, review, and recommended actions. Compile and submit reports required by company management and regulatory agencies (OSHA), including ad hoc reporting when necessary. Perform comprehensive EHS facility and field audits. Create corrective action plans based on audit findings and partner with operations for deliverables. Facilitate timely completion and closure of corrective action plans. Serve as subject matter expert on all corporate and governmental regulatory issues within the assigned region. Conduct and facilitate field and facility safety meetings and training. Train and develop regional resources on overall construction safety. Investigate injuries and incidents; develop root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Document all injury and incident scenarios and causes in the company EHS information system. Communicate injury and incident scenarios along with root and contributing causes to facilitate proactive injury and incident avoidance activities. Manage OSHA citations and investigations within the assigned region. Analyze metrics and review monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources to focus on key areas. Audit data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s Degree (highly preferred) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST) Legal Age Requirements At least 18 years of age. Experience 5+ years of experience. Type Of Required Experience OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations and safety administration in a transportation, construction, distribution, general industry, or warehousing environment. Proficient in OSHA & EPA regulations, state and federal laws, and knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Travel ± 50% travel. Position Location Territory covers Colorado and Utah.
