Xylem is seeking an **Industrial Controls Field Service Technician** to support customers across the U.S. and Canada through the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of advanced municipal water treatment systems. This is a hands-on field service opportunity for a technician with experience in industrial controls, PLCs, electrical and mechanical systems, instrumentation, pumps, or commissioning. Experience in municipal water and wastewater is highly valued, but candidates with strong transferable experience in industrial, manufacturing, automation, controls, or electrical environments are encouraged to apply. **You may be a strong fit for this opportunity if you have experience as a:** + PLC Technician + Controls Technician + Industrial Controls Technician + Commissioning Technician + Startup Technician + Industrial Controls Field Service Technician + Electrical Field Service Technician + Industrial Electrician + Automation Technician + Instrumentation & Controls Technician + Pump Technician + Pump & Controls Technician + Water/Wastewater Controls Technician + Field Service Technician **Experience with the following is highly valued:** + PLC troubleshooting + Industrial controls + Control panel wiring and diagnostics + Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) + SCADA systems + Startup and commissioning + Electrical troubleshooting + Pumps and pumping systems + Water and wastewater equipment + Customer-site field service support **What Your Day Will Look Like as an Industrial Controls Field Service Technician** As an Industrial Controls Field Service Technician, you'll travel to customer sites to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of municipal water treatment equipment and systems. This role works with a variety of advanced mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems and requires a strong technical background, customer-focused communication, and the ability to work independently in the field. You'll collaborate closely with customers, project teams, and internal support groups to help deliver safe and successful project outcomes. A typical work week includes travel on Monday and Friday, with field service work performed Tuesday through Thursday at customer locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. **What We're Looking For** + Experience servicing and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and industrial control systems in industrial, manufacturing, or municipal environments + Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, control panels, and industrial automation + Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment, VFDs, conduit, grounding, and three-phase electrical systems + Experience with electrical troubleshooting, control panel wiring, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis + Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, network troubleshooting, and control systems + Ability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system layouts + Experience with instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, and temperature sensors + Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills + Ability to perform equipment startup, commissioning, functional testing, and preventative maintenance + Experience with pumps, pumping systems, instrumentation, or water/wastewater equipment is highly valued + Comfortable conducting customer training sessions and communicating technical information clearly + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer locations and priorities + Commitment to safety and adherence to Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) policies + Experience with ServiceMax is a plus + Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for travel within the U.S. and Canada **Travel & Schedule** + Greater than 75% travel throughout the U.S. and Canada + Typical schedule includes travel on Monday and Friday, with onsite field work Tuesday-Thursday + Work environments may include offices, manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and municipal water or wastewater treatment plants + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work around operating industrial equipment as needed **Benefits for Industrial Controls Field Service Technicians** + Four (4) weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) + Health, Dental, and Vision insurance + Retirement and investment savings programs + Career growth and professional development opportunities + Company wellness, recognition, and employee discount programs + Paid volunteer opportunities through Xylem Watermark At Xylem, our Total Rewards Program goes beyond compensation by supporting your career development, well-being, and long-term success.
