Description Open Recruitment Position Specific Recruitment The MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Accountant I within the Office of Accounting at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport). Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following Recording and applying customer payments including checks, Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, wire transfers, and credit cards to the correct accounts and invoices. Reconciling discrepancies and variances between bank deposits and internal accounting system records to ensure data integrity. Monitoring daily lockbox activity and promptly resolving short payments, overpayments, or unidentified remittances. Reviewing accounts receivable aging reports on a daily basis and proactively pursuing outstanding past-due balances. This position is located at BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing. Experience: One year of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records, and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles. Notes Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with thirty credit hours in accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing, for the required education. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974, will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above. Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a master’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience. Applicants may substitute one year of professional auditing experience for the required experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in the Accounting Officer classification or Financial Management specialty codes in the accounting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
