VP, Head of IT Rare Disease Unit

AstraZeneca seeks a VP of IT for its Rare Disease Unit to develop technology strategy and innovation roadmap supporting business objectives. Reporting to the Enterprise CIO, this leader will align IT investments with organizational needs, integrate Alexion operations, and drive digital transformation across the unit.
Responsibilities
- Develop long-term IT vision, strategy, and innovation roadmap aligned with Rare Disease Unit goals
- Lead IT governance, portfolio rationalization, and system lifecycle management across the organization
- Build and mentor high-performing IT team; establish succession planning and development programs
- Direct technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations ensuring secure and reliable systems
- Execute Alexion-AstraZeneca integration roadmap and drive digital transformation initiatives
Requirements
- 15+ years progressive IT leadership and strategy experience
- Proven track record leading large-scale, complex technology implementations
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly innovative industries
- Demonstrated ability to link technology to business strategy and deliver measurable value
- Substantive global M&A integration and change management experience
- Strong collaborative skills working with senior business and technology leaders
