Job Summary:
Telemetry (TELE) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Peoria, Illinois. This assignment involves providing specialized nursing care in a telemetry unit, managing patients with various cardiac and medical diagnoses, and performing complex patient monitoring duties. The role requires experience in telemetry and basic nursing skills, with a focus on patient safety and clinical competency.

Job Details:

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shifts starting at 0700 and ending at 1930, or starting at 1900 and ending at 0730
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: Illinois RN licensure or confirmation that application has been initiated, BLS (AHA) certification, minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, basic nursing skills, experience with telemetry monitoring, and experience in medication titration, including drips such as Cardizem and heparin.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS is recommended.
• Duties: Read and interpret telemetry strips on Phillips monitors, troubleshoot Cpap and Bipap equipment when necessary, and monitor high-flow oxygen therapy under specific circumstances.
• Patient Types: Patients with myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placements, lung surgeries, and general medical overflow.
• Staffing and Support: Charge nurse (24/7) with rare patient assignment, house supervisor available continuously, nurse aides/patient care techs on during day, evening, and night shifts with patient ratios of 1:4-5 for nurses and 1:8-12 for techs.
• Cross-Unit Float: Ability to float to other general medical units if needed.
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs, avoiding children or cartoon prints.
• Orientation: Typically one shift or part of a shift, depending on prior experience with OSF facilities.
• Additional Notes: The role involves managing equipment such as vents, Cpap, Bipap, high-flow oxygen, and interpreting telemetry strips. Flexibility with floating to other units is required, and adherence to uniform policies is expected.
