Accounting & Finance Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations, with a preference for candidates who have Statutory accounting experience or a background in the insurance industry. Responsibilities Oversee the full accounting function, including month-end and year-end close. Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis. Ensure accurate and timely regulatory and statutory reporting. Support audits and maintain compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements. Review financial data for accuracy, identify variances, and provide recommendations to leadership. Oversee and support AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities. Partner with internal teams, external auditors, CPAs, and other financial professionals as needed. Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with Controller or Accounting Manager-level experience preferred. STAT/Statutory accounting experience strongly preferred. Insurance industry experience highly preferred, particularly with insurance carriers, reinsurance, or regulated financial reporting. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting; experience with STAT-to-GAAP reporting is a plus. Experience with regulatory reporting, audits, reconciliations, and financial controls. Strong Excel and accounting software/ERP experience. CPA is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with excellent attention to detail.
