Law Clerk

Cullen Family Law Group is seeking a motivated Law Clerk to join its Riverside office. This position is ideal for a recent law school graduate, current law student, or California Bar Exam candidate interested in developing a career in family law. The Law Clerk will work directly with experienced family law attorneys and assist with active matters involving divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence restraining orders, property division, attorney fees, discovery, and post-judgment proceedings. Responsibilities Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses. Draft declarations, motions, briefs, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents. Review and summarize pleadings, court orders, financial records, discovery responses, and evidence. Assist attorneys with hearing, deposition, mediation, settlement conference, and trial preparation. Organize exhibits, timelines, evidence, and case materials. Maintain accurate case notes and complete assignments by established deadlines. Communicate professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Assist with other substantive legal and case-management assignments as needed. Qualifications Juris Doctor candidate, Juris Doctor graduate, or California Bar Exam candidate. Strong legal research, analytical, writing, proofreading, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Careful attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, professional work. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Interest in California family law and litigation. Preferred Qualifications Prior family law, litigation, law firm, clinic, or judicial externship experience. Familiarity with California court procedures and legal document formatting. Experience reviewing financial records or assisting with discovery. Experience with legal case-management software. Spanish-language proficiency is helpful but not required. The position provides meaningful exposure to substantive legal work and the opportunity to develop practical litigation skills under attorney supervision. Candidates awaiting California Bar Exam results may be considered for advancement to an associate attorney position following admission, depending on performance and the firm’s needs.
