Job Summary

Implements, delivers, and evaluates CIHA’s organizational training and professional development programs. Executes learning initiatives that support workforce performance, cultural alignment, and leadership readiness. Works closely with the Learning and Development Manager to fulfill strategic learning goals while modeling CIHA’s values and cultural commitments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead facilitator and implementer of CIHA’s core training programs:
  • New Hire Orientation
  • Learning Leadership Series
  • The Right Way Tools Training
  • Youth College Experience
  • Professional Development Series
  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Cherokee Indian Hospital in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values
  • Research, develop and apply career and talent development systems, understanding and demonstrating sound business strategy in the research, development, and application of career and talent development programs
  • Promote the integration of career and talent development research and work-based learning opportunities into development programs
  • Keep up to date with current best practices in training and development by going to meetings, attending conferences, joining training and development social media groups and attending relevant courses
  • Amend and revise programs as needed to reflect changes to the organization strategies by monitoring participant engagement and participant feedback.
  • Influence and prolong the employee life cycle by providing coaching and development support.
  • Coordinate and track career and talent development, and skill enhancements for employees with the LMS Administrator
  • Provide timely and appropriate reports and information to Learning and Development Manager, HR Director and CEO
  • Work with Learning and Development Manager, department managers and division directors to develop expectations and provide feedback on performance of employees
  • Provide annual training on performance feedback tools
  • Responsible for coordination of new hire development plan, shadowing, experiences, transitioning into departments, follow up for career and talent development opportunities
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution required; concentration in education, social work, counseling, training, organization development, business administration, human resources, or a related field preferred. Four years' experience in organization development, teaching adults, or training, with emphasis on adult learning practices preferred.
  • Curriculum development and LMS experience preferred.
  • Experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

  • Proven and demonstrated ability to design and deliver training following adult learning theory
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 cloud based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Proficient in use of a Learning Management System
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
  • Ability to talk to people at many different levels of organization
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employees at all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to effectuate cultural change and achieve performance objectives
  • Strategic planning, analytical and critical thinking skills required
  • Must be able to demonstrate program alignment to business strategy and department goals

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be able to work in small, shared office space
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays

Consistently demonstrates superior customer service skills to patients/customers by demonstrating characteristics that align with CIHA’s guiding principles and core values. Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all patients/customers by seeking out opportunities to be of service.
