Elder Law Attorney

*Overview*

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Virginia practice. This is a full-time position for an attorney who is ready to carry a substantial caseload, work directly with clients and families, and contribute to the growth of the firm.

Responsibilities include advising clients on estate planning, trust, guardianship, and long-term care matters; drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments; handling estate and trust administration; conducting legal research; managing files from intake through completion; conducting client signings; and participating in marketing and business development to grow the practice.

This position is hybrid following an initial in-office onboarding period. Because elder law is client-facing by nature, in-person meetings and signings remain a regular part of the role.

*Skills*

* Extensive knowledge of estate planning and probate
* Experience with special needs trusts and guardianship
* Excellent legal writing skills for drafting motions, pleadings, contracts, and client correspondence
* Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients with empathy and professionalism
* Patient and empathetic approach with older clients and their families
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Commitment to ongoing professional development in elder law

*Essential Qualifications*

* Active Virginia State Bar license in good standing (mandatory)
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in trusts and estates
* Strong drafting skills and exceptional attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Comfortable with marketing, networking, and business development activities
* Strong technology skills and comfort learning new software

Pay: $72,500.00 - $90,000.00 per year
