Shift Type: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 60

Candidate Pay Rate: $62.30 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to build care plans that return patients to optimal health
• Deliver compassionate bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders with precision
• Delegate to and oversee Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, Surgical Service Assistants, Nursing Clerks and Psychiatric Techs
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and adjust as patient needs evolve
• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into everyday practice
• Lead and coordinate task assignments to keep patient care flowing smoothly
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences
• Identify ongoing and discharge or transfer teaching needs and connect patients with the right resources
• Mentor and precept new employees and students
• Serve as a team leader ensuring proper patient placement and fair delegation
• Communicate relevant information clearly and effectively with patients, families and the care team
• Pursue professional growth through educational opportunities in the hospital and community

Qualifications

• 2+ years of ICU experience, required
• Comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step Down units, required
• Current BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications, required
• Active Michigan RN license
• A genuine willingness to keep learning and grow with the team
• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN or SCRN certifications are a nice bonus
• Travel experience is preferred
• Neuro surgical experience is preferred
• Open heart experience is preferred

Education

• Teaches and/or guides professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precepts/mentors new employees and students.
• Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.
• 2. Communicates relevant information in a manner that is understandable and effective.
• 3. Shows organizational skills through effective planning.
