The Food Service Worker prepares and serves meals for children and adolescents receiving care at Camber. The setting is similar to a small school cafeteria, serving youth with behavioral health needs in a structured and supportive environment.

This role is responsible for food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and maintaining food safety standards. Successful candidates understand that every interaction is an opportunity to model professionalism, kindness, and respect.

Under the supervision of the Operations Department and in collaboration with a Dietitian, you will:

• Prepare nutritious meals for children and adolescents in care.

• Arrange food and beverages on steam tables, coolers, trays, and mobile carts.

• Ensure food is served safely and efficiently.

• Follow all food handling, preparation, and storage regulations.

• Monitor and maintain proper refrigeration temperatures.

• Clean and sanitize utensils, cooking equipment, storage areas, and serving stations.

• Set up and break down tables and service areas as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.

• Model professional, respectful, and courteous behavior with youth, families, colleagues, and community partners.

• Support a culture of dignity, inclusion, and respect for all individuals.

• Completion of at least the 10th grade required.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.

• One to three months of experience or training in food service, including food preparation and storage.

• Experience serving meals to children in a residential treatment, healthcare, or school setting.

• Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and storage procedures.

• Comfort using Windows-based software and email systems.

• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

This position requires:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.

• Regular use of hands and arms for food preparation and service activities.

• Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.

• Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.

• Ability to work in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures and activity levels.

• Sufficient vision, hearing, and mobility to safely perform job duties.
