Physician/Attending - CICU

Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Heart Institute is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead critical care for children with congenital and acquired heart disease. This physician will oversee a 34‑bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU with 24‑hour coverage, collaborating with cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities Provide evidence‑based critical care for pediatric patients in the Cardiac ICU. Conduct evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and treatment planning, including mechanical circulatory support and perioperative management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers, fellows, residents, and other trainees. Participate in research initiatives aimed at advancing pediatric cardiac critical care. Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Support program development and institutional initiatives aligned with the Institute’s mission. Foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence in cardiac critical care delivery. Qualifications MD or equivalent from an accredited medical school. Three‑year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. One year of fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care OR dual fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Unrestricted medical license and ABMS board certification in Pediatric Cardiology. Eligibility for medical licensure in Florida. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
