Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant provides comprehensive clinical and administrative support within an ambulatory care clinic, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations. This role involves direct patient care, specimen collection, and assisting healthcare providers with procedures.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform clinical tasks such as rooming patients, collecting specimens, conducting Point of Care Testing (POCT), and administering immunizations and injections within scope of practice.
  
  
• 
  Document patient information accurately, update medical records, and ensure medication and immunization records are current.
  
  
• 
  Assist providers with routine exams, minor procedures, and office surgeries, preparing patients and setting up necessary equipment.
  
  
• 
  Recognize signs requiring prompt intervention, monitor patient conditions, and respond appropriately.
  
  
• 
  Transport patients within the facility and support clinic operations by managing supplies and equipment.
  
  
• 
  Lead and support other Clinical Assistant I and II team members, fostering team collaboration and seamless patient care.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current Medical Assistant certification and BLS certification are required.
  
  
• 
  At least 1 year of recent urgent care experience within the last 2 years.
  
  
• 
  Knowledge of clinical procedures, vital signs, and medical terminology.
  
  
• 
  Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  
  
• 
  Ability to operate medical equipment and utilize electronic medical records proficiently.
