DescriptionCytotechnologistBring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + TogetherWork location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75231Work hours: Full time, Monday – Friday; 1st ShiftQualificationsHere’s What You Need· Associate's Degree Cytology or related field pre 1988 Required Or· Bachelor's Degree Cytology or related field post 1988 Required And· Other completion of training from an approved school of cytotechnology Req· 3 Years cytology experience Preferred and· 1 Year in hospital specialty Preferred· CT(ASCP) - Cytotechnologist within 6 months of hire Required Or· CT(IAC) - Cytotechnologist within 6 months of hire Required Or· SCT(ASCP) - Specialist in Cytotechnology within 6 months RequiredWhat You Will Do· Microscopic examination of prepared routine Gyn and Non-Gyn cytology for detection, identification, and documentation of evidence or absence of cancer cells or its precursor.· Specimen Processing - This includes all phases of Gyn and Non-Gyn processing from initial accessioning, computer order entry, raw specimen to slide processing, staining, cover slipping and reflex testing specimen preparation. · Assists in obtaining fine needed aspiration biopsies and preparing and staining slides for rapid assessment by pathologists.· Maintains knowledge of computer software applications and uses computer applications competently as related to the specific task required for each assigned job responsibility.Entity HighlightFor more than a half-century, Texas Health Hospital Dallas has been at the forefront of health care in North Texas.
