Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher working with kindergarten students. This full-time, contract position serves a small group of six students, allowing for individualized instruction and strong relationships. The role is based near Baton Rouge, LA, providing a supportive school environment focused on empowering each child to thrive academically and socially.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education for the state of Louisiana
  • Experience working with early elementary students, particularly in kindergarten settings
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with classroom teachers, specialists, and families
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and adapting lesson plans to meet each student’s needs
  • Compassion, patience, and creativity to foster a nurturing and effective classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to meet the diverse needs of a kindergarten caseload of six students
  • Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Track student progress and utilize data to adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with parents, support staff, and administration
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom that supports social, emotional, and academic development
  • Participate in student support meetings and collaborate closely with school staff
